ART CLASS DAY 23: HOLIDAY WREATH MAKING

Working with flowers and plants is a bit intimidating, so I was excited when I saw Workshop’s class to create your own Holiday Wreath. Because even after taking the class, it’s still a skill that I don’t feel super comfortable about and would want an expert nearby to help assure me I was doing it right. Even though it’s honestly not that difficult. Maybe it’s just me?

Using a metal ring made it a little easier, and I started by weaving the evergreen clippings around it, not worrying about the bits that are flying off in all directions – it’s just wreath personality.

First step – wrapping the clippings around the wire.

Then we added some other decorative pieces, little berries, other plant pieces, ribbon, etc. It’s really up to you what you want it to look like!

Mine ended up being pretty simple — maybe next year I’ll try something more complicated. Happy holidays!
